Award winning classical guitarist Naeim Rahmani will perform music by Villa-Lobos, Bach and Scarlatti on Saturday, March 17th at 6:00 PM. Mr. Rahmani has performed throughout the US and internationally, and been honored with prizes from the San Francisco Bay Area Guitar Competition, the Louisville International Guitar Competition and the Northwest Guitar Competition. “Mr. Rahmani’s playing is exciting and beautiful, it’s an honor to have him perform at Cascadia,” said Cal Lewin, chair of the Cascadia Art Museum music committee.
Mr. Rahmani was born in Iran and immigrated to the United States as a refugee in 2003. He’s director of the Seattle-Isfahan Guitar Project, forging connections between guitarists in Seattle and in Naeim’s home town of Isfahan, Iran. He served as the lead classical guitar instructor at the Latino Arts Strings Program in Milwaukee and was director there of the annual guitar festival and competition.
