WORKSHOP | Birdfest with Cathy Gilbert

Join us this Saturday to create your very own polymer clay bird to celebrate Birdfest! Artist Cathy Gilbert will be with us from 11 to 1, demonstrating her techniques to create your own feathered friend you can take home. Here’s a little note from Cathy:

“I was born and raised in Warm Beach Washington and currently live in the Lake Goodwin area.  I’m a true Washingtonian and think we live in the most beautiful state in the country.  I’ve been creating with polymer clay for 25 years and recently have developed a love for all things bird.  Combining those two passions has been fun and exciting.

This project requires very little in the way of tools and skill.  It’s always interesting to see what people can make with just a bit of clay and their hands.  These colorful, small birds can be adapted to sit atop a pencil, hang on a chain for a necklace or keychain, or just sit on your shelf.”

Make sure to tour the museum after the workshop and see Paintings from the Palouse: The Art of Andrew L. Hofmeister and Quiet Hour: The Photography of Yukio MorinagaThere’s only one more month of these exhibitions, see the work before they’re gone!
