Join us Thursday, December 19th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. for the monthly Art Walk Edmonds! On top of offering free admission during the Art Walk, we’re elated to present Clayscapes Studio as our featured Artists!
Clayscapes Studio is a group of congenial, accomplished potters who banded together to seek a communal working space. Mostly retirees from a variety of backgrounds, Clayscapes potters work in many styles – from wheel-thrown and altered bowls and vases to complex hand-built structures and lifelike sculptures. The glue that holds them together is their love of clay and all its possibilities. A shared thirst for finding new ways of expression, plus a desire to continue honing their skills keeps Clayscapes Studio gatherings lively and compelling.
The public can view selected samples of Clayscapes pottery, which will be on sale at the Cascadia Art Museum during the Thursday, December 19 Artwalk in downtown Edmonds. As a special treat during the sale, Clayscapes Studio member Ruby Root will demonstrate the handbuilding techniques she uses to create her “critter” sculptures.
Come and watch the “Critters” come to life. Maybe pick up a holiday gift or two. Or just chat with the Clayscapes potters.
