The Cascadia Art Museum is a service organization which enhances the arts in Edmonds and surrounding areas. Our volunteers are the face of the museum and are responsible for the reputation of the museum in the community. Volunteers meet others with the same interests in art. Volunteers also receive a 10% discount in the museum store, are invited to special events and earn free museum passes as service hours are accrued.
Cascadia Art Museum will be hosting its first volunteer open house on Saturday, February 25th. Dedicated to the legacy of the Northwest, the Museum features paintings, prints, photography and sculpture created exclusively by artists active in the Northwest during the mid-19th through the mid-20th centuries.

Greeting guests is a major function as is some computer skills for managing store sales. Volunteers are responsible for ticket sales, membership sales and purchased items. Volunteers also assist in maintaining the aesthetic of the store, which includes cleaning and display arrangement.
Volunteers safeguard the art by monitoring guests behavior. Volunteers also answer questions regarding the current exhibits.
Docents provide group tours for groups of adults and children. Docents must complete a training program which prepares them to conduct an informative tour of the exhibit.
Cascadia Art Museum hosts several events which allows the community to schedule meetings, luncheons, dinners, celebrations, and fund raisers. Volunteers are needed to staff the museum, maintain gallery security, assist with set up and breakdown and assist with museum store sales.
Cascadia Art Museum outreach includes developing programs and procedures for students and teachers and participates in planning for museum activities. Volunteers are encouraged to participate in our education outreach program as well as docent training.
