Spooktacular Watercolor | Virtual Family Art Workshop

Get ready for Halloween with this fun watercolor class taught by Mary Browne Peterson. Create a fantastical Halloween scene with the use of sketching and watercolors/ colored pencils. Learn how to make your scene come alive with drips and dabs of color and use of vibrant black to outline central elements.

About Mary Browne Peterson

Mary is a mixed media artist living in Mukilteo. She is passionate about the empowering benefits of art and co-founded Art For All Forum , an organization that supports artists with disabilities in making and exhibiting their art. She is a recipient of Everett Cultural Arts Commission Mayors Art Award for Arts Changing Lives. Her work can be seen at the Schack Art Center and at Mel and Me Musings Online store.



How to Register

This Family Art Exploration workshop is free for all participants. Please use the registration form below, and a zoom link along with images will be sent to you prior to the class. Please see below for a list of materials you will need for this class. If you do not have any of the materials, we recommend using ArtSpot in Edmonds. You can request delivery or pick-up.

  • Watercolors (pan, tubes)
  • Small brushes for watercolor
  • Water in a cup for the brush
  • Paper towel
  • Eraser
  • Pencil
  • Watercolor paper around 8″ x 10″
  • Black Sharpie (or other permanent markers; fine is preferred)
  • Optional: White gel pen or black wax pencil
  • Optional: Hairdryer
  • Optional: Salt / Isopropyl alcohol
