Seattle Print Arts is delighted to present, “Contemporary Hues” a juried exhibition of work by members of Seattle Print Arts, an organization of regional print artists and print arts enthusiasts.
Founded in January 2000, Seattle Print Arts SPA is an association of artists, arts professionals and collectors who have an interest in the expanding field of print arts and an appreciation of print media. Lead by a 15 member working board of directors, the mission of Seattle Print Arts is to foster intellectual and artistic dialogue, serve as a resource for news in the field of printmaking, forge links between artists, and serve as a base for a variety of activities that focus on the print arts. In addition to offering exhibition opportunities for its members, each year SPA hosts visiting artists for demonstrations and talks; sponsors print exchanges; and hosts open portfolio sessions and sales. SPA supports artists financially though annual scholarships and awards and currently has a membership of over 175.
“Contemporary Hues,” curated by David Martin, features the work of 28 Seattle Print Arts member artists. The show highlights the diversity of technique and style in the area of contemporary print making in the Northwest. This the first SPA exhibit with a specific focus on color print making.
