What Your Gift Enables

See the Northwest Through the Eyes of Its Artists

Every exhibition at Cascadia is the result of months of research, collaboration, and careful planning. Your support helps us present exhibitions that deepen our understanding of Northwest art and bring deserving artists and their stories to new audiences.

Publications

We publish more books on Northwest art than any other institution. Your support helps us preserve important scholarship and ensures the artists we champion continue to be recognized and appreciated for generations to come.

Free School Programs with Paid Transportation

Through Cascadia Art for Schools, we offer free, standards-based art programs to K–8 students. The museum pays for transportation so that every student, regardless of zip code or family income, can visit. Since 2015, we’ve welcomed thousands of students into our galleries. Your gift makes this access possible.

Community Programs

Lectures, concerts, films, workshops, and community programs bring Northwest art to life for thousands of visitors each year. We also offer dedicated programs for individuals living with dementia and their care partners.

Collection Care & Conservation

Our 1100+ works of art in the Cascadia Collection require expert care, conservation, climate control, and documentation. Your gift ensures that the art in our collection is preserved for future generations.

Appreciated Stock

If you give stock that you have held for at least one year and has grown in value, you can receive a charitable deduction for the value and avoid capital gains taxes. Giving appreciated stock may be more beneficial than giving cash due to the tax advantages. Please email development@CascadiaArtMuseum.org to request asset delivery instructions.

IRA Charitable Rollovers

If you are age 70 ½ or older, you can make a tax-smart gift to Cascadia Art Museum directly from your IRA. Each year, you may transfer up to $111,000 (per person) to one or more qualified charities without increasing your taxable income, even if you are not required to take minimum distributions.

This type of gift, known as a qualified charitable distribution (QCD), is a simple and impactful way to support the causes you care about while potentially lowering your taxable income.

To get started, contract your IRA plan administrator and request a QCD to Cascadia Art Museum.
