Discover changing exhibitions that explore the art, artists, and cultural history of the Northwest from 1870 to 1970. Through original research and scholarship, Cascadia brings greater recognition to both well-known and rediscovered artists, offering fresh perspectives on the region’s rich artistic heritage.
Our growing permanent collection of more than 1,100 artworks helps preserve this important legacy for future generations.
Publications
Each year, Cascadia publishes a major book on Northwest art to accompany one of its exhibitions. Cascadia publishes more books on Northwest art than any other institution in the world, helping to document and share the rich artistic heritage of our region.
Through original research and scholarship, these publications tell the stories of both celebrated and rediscovered artists, preserving their contributions for future generations.
Education
Through Cascadia Art for Schools, we offer free, standards-based art programs for K-8 students. The museum covers transportation costs so that every student (regardless of zip code or family income) can experience Northwest art in person.
Since 2015, we’ve welcomed thousands of students into our galleries.
Community Programs
Cascadia is more than a museum, it’s a gathering place. Throughout the year, we bring people together through lectures, concerts, films, author conversations, workshops, sketching sessions, yoga, and programs for people living with dementia.
Whether you’re learning, creating, or simply spending time with others who share your curiosity, our programs foster connection, conversation, and discovery. At the heart of it all is a shared appreciation for Northwest art and the community it inspires.
