Hwaen Ch’uqi’s Quintet #3 for Piano & Strings
Brahms Piano Quintet
Saturday, October 4th at 6:00 p.m.
If you were thrilled by this winter’s amazing concert with blind Peruvian composer/pianist Hwaen Ch’uqi, he’s coming back with a brand new classical quintet he’s just finished composing titled “Appassionata.” The names of the quintet’s movements will give you a hint: The Tempest, The Confession and The Delirium. Hwaen is traveling here from Rochester, NY to give us this performance, he says he loves our Cascadia audience! He will be accompanied by a quartet of terrific string players including one of our favorite violinists Pamela Liu returning to Cascadia along with Luis Nenninger (violin), Stef Creswell (viola) and Erika Fiebig (cello). They will also perform the tempestuous first movement of the Brahms Piano Quintet, Op 34, a perennial favorite.
Cascadia’s concert series is a unique opportunity to enjoy leading classical performers up close, in our intimate gallery setting surrounded by beautiful art from the Northwest – the way chamber music was meant to be experienced!
Your ticket includes admission to all the museum galleries, so make sure you come early to see our current exhibits. Our concerts are about one-hour in length starting at 6 PM, leaving you time to dine out after — altogether a perfect evening.
Seating is limited and these concerts often sell-out, so please we suggest reserving your seats well in advance.
