MUSIC IN THE MUSEUM | Classical Romantic Trio

Our June chamber music concert features three musicians often heard with the Seattle Symphony, horn player Joshua Paulus, violist Mara Gearman, and pianist Dr. Li-Tan Hsu.  The trio will perform lushly romantic pieces: Robert Schumann’s Fantasiestucke, op. 73; Brilliant Fantasies on themes of Franz Schubert for Horn and Piano, Op. 339 no. 1 by Carl Czerny; and Schilflieder: Five Fantasy Pieces, op. 28 by August Klughardt.

Joshua Paulus (horn) performs regularly with the San Francisco Symphony, the Seattle Symphony and the San Diego Symphony.  He has performed across the United States and Europe, and is an active studio musician heard on many movie and video game soundtracks.

Mara Gearman (viola) studied at the Curtis Institute of Music and with Pinchas Zukerman. Currently Third Chair with the Seattle Symphony, Mara has received awards from the Tertis International and Primrose Viola Competitions and has performed throughout the US and Europe.

Dr. Li-Tan Hsu (piano), a prizewinner from the Liszt Garrison Competition, regularly works with the Seattle Symphony and the Seattle Opera. She has performed with Pacific Northwest Ballet, Opus 7 Vocal Ensemble, and has served as a Collaborative Artist with Seattle University.

We’re honored and very lucky to host this ensemble of outstanding musicians of national stature, it promises to be a spectacular concert.

Please note this concert is on a SUNDAY, not our usual Saturday, to accommodate the musicians’ schedules.
