Have you walked by our Museum Store lately? If so, you’ve noticed that we have our window shades pulled down and it’s looking a bit…monochromatic.
So we’d like to ask you to help us decorate!
We’ve made coloring pages out of some of our favorite woodblock prints by Northwest artists W. Corwin Chase, Waldo S. Chase, and Elizabeth Colborne. Head over to our website to download the coloring pages and get creative!
- Choose your favorite coloring pages online or pick up blank coloring pages in person at the kiosk outside of the museum’s main doors (our address is at the bottom of this email). To download the images online, follow this link, choose the images you like, and click the down arrow button at the bottom right of the coloring page. Then you’re ready to print from home.
- Start coloring! Use your imagination and have fun.
- Once you’ve colored in these Northwest scenes, drop off your creations in the white box outside of the museum’s main doors. You can also reply to this email with a scanned copy of your completed coloring pages.
- We’ll put your colorful pages in our windows for everyone to enjoy!
What color combinations will you choose? We’re excited to find out. We’d also love to hear what you’re missing most about Cascadia during this temporary closure. We miss you and can’t wait to welcome you back when it’s safe for the museum to reopen.
If you need new art supplies for this and other creative projects, check out Cascadia’s Colorful World Kit through Edmonds Localvore. The site is a great way to support local businesses during this time!
The Chase Brothers and Elizabeth Colborne are some of the artists featured in Territorial Hues: The Color Print and Washington State, 1920-1960. Written by David Martin, Cascadia’s curator, this book features the biographies and beautiful prints of Northwest artists who helped to establish the cultural identity of our region.
We hope these coloring pages bring you joy and spark your creativity. As always, be well and thank you for being part of our Cascadia community.
